Driven by a deep passion for the well-being of children, her vision has transformed from a spark in 2006 when she dreamed of establishing a thriving network of integrated healthcare practices serving countless families. A small-town girl with a big heart, Ms. Medellin recognized a vital need in the community – comprehensive and accessible child healthcare. In 2010, a vision bloomed – the creation of an integrated practice offering holistic care.

Ms. Medellin joined Mind Works in 2010. Designated as one of only 15 RPT-S™ in the San Antonio – New Braunfels Metropolitan Statistical Area, this designation represents an advanced level of expertise, as evidenced by ongoing practice and continued education, in the field of play therapy. As with her primary license, it is important to recognize experience informs supervisory practice and that advanced clinical skills are needed before one may supervise others under the RPT-S™ designation. Throughout her career, Ms. Medellin has established herself as a highly skilled therapist, working with children facing a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, with a particular focus on play therapy, a technique that allows children to express themselves freely and develop healthy coping mechanisms. Recognized for her expertise, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her patients, Ms. Medellin has become a leading figure in the field of child mental health.

Ms. Medellin’s commitment extends beyond individual therapy not only as a practitioner but also a valuable resource for the community. She is a passionate advocate for expanding access to comprehensive mental health services for children. Medication has proven to manage these conditions, allowing therapy to be more effective in addressing behavioral concerns. Practitioners from both disciplines can collaborate and share information easily, ensuring a more cohesive treatment approach. Families receive all the necessary services under one roof, reducing the burden of appointments with different providers

Throughout her career, Ms. Medellin has been involved in professional organizations and has served on the State Board of the Texas Association of Play Therapy for the last 5 years, first as Secretary and then as Director of Marketing and Outreach. She is an active member of the Association for Play Therapy and the Texas Association for Play Therapy. Additionally, she has given several presentations at state wide professional conferences. She has contributed insightful articles for prominent publications like Business Insider, Learning Success, Bustle, Your Teen for Parents, Student Training and Education Public Services, Voyage San Antonio, and the Association for Play Therapy, sharing her expertise and advocating for the well-being of children.
