Hello, my name is Sara Chehal, and thank you for your interest in Mind Works! I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. My education began when I atended Southern Methodist University and obtained a bachelor’s degree in biology and later a teaching certificate from the University of North Texas. I taught in both San Antonio and Dripping Springs. I later expanded my interest in the medical field and obtained a bachelor’s in nursing from Concordia University and a Masters
in psychiatric nursing from the Texas Tech University. I am an active member in the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and the American Nurses Association.
How Can I Help
Working in collaboration with the Mind Works team, I will provide initial assessments by meeting with both parents and their child or teen and gather information to develop a diagnosis and treatment plan. If medication is needed, I will provide medication education, management, and follow up to ensure patient safety and to assess if treatment goals are being met. My hope is to provide parents and children the education and resources to overcome the challenges they face.
More about Me
I enjoy drawing, reading, art, and visiting historical places. After raising two wonderful children, I am enjoying the perks of an empty nest! I find my mental peace through working out, taking long walks, and visiting the beach.
