Hi, I’m Aryn! I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). I enjoy working with individuals aged 6 years to young adult. My strengths are in empowering the people I work with to explore and find solutions that work for them. Individuals I work with may be struggling with a variety of life challenges including school, family and peer relationships, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and trauma.
I enjoy working with children 6 years and up. My modalities with kids are play and art interventions to meet them where they are. Play is a language children are comfortable using. I often use play-based and art-based therapy with children to help build emotional vocabulary and process in a way that is comfortable to them. Art is more than a creative outlet. It provides an opportunity to express experiences or emotions that there may not be words for. Art-based therapy is a fun and deeply reflective way for children to explore and express themselves.
In working with my individuals, I use Person-Centered Approach, Art-Based Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I strive to be a culturally sensitive therapist who provides a creative, non-judgmental atmosphere for the individuals I work with. I use trauma-informed practice and strive to make sure individuals are empowered to engage in their therapeutic process.
I also specialize in working with individuals who identify as LGBTQIA+ and really enjoy serving this community. Many times these individuals are seeking a non-judgmental atmosphere to openly and comfortably discuss their experiences and process with a professional. I can provide LGBT-specific therapy for individuals who may be on their identity journey, or therapy for individuals who identify as LGBTQIA+ and are experiencing other mental health concerns.
More About Me
I am a life-long learner, so I am always finding ways to take in new information. I love to go to events in the community, read books, and watch TED Talks. I enjoy spending time with my spouse and fur babies by the river on weekends.
