Cassandra Soriano, LPC-Associate

Hello! My name is Cassandra Soriano, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Reanna Owens, LPC-S. I graduated from The University of Texas at San Antonio with my bachelor’s degree in psychology and then earned my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling in 2022. I am experienced in working with clients dealing with depression, anxiety, stress, mood disorders, relationship conflicts, and academic concerns.

How Can I Help
As a counselor specializing in counseling children my journey has been filled with challenges, growth, and rewarding moments. From exploring various therapy approaches to helping clients reach their goals, being a counselor has been a fulfilling experience. Establishing rapport with clients and guiding them through their struggles has been a key aspect of my work. As a counselor, my primary focus is on helping clients identify and work towards their goals. Through active listening and empathy, I support clients in exploring their thoughts and emotions. Empowering clients to take ownership of their journey is key to fostering growth and resilience. Building a strong rapport with clients is essential in the counseling process.

By demonstrating genuine care and empathy, I create a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore their challenges. Active communication and validation of clients’ experiences enhance therapeutic relationships and promote positive outcomes. I primarily use person centered therapy, which I believe is a baseline to really connect with my clients and establish rapport. I also incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy, positive psychology, goal-oriented therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy; however, I am excited about integrating other evidence-based therapy approaches depending on my client’s needs. I have tailored interventions to effectively support children and families in achieving their goals. Active engagement in therapy sessions has been crucial in building trust and facilitating change. By utilizing a variety of therapy approaches, helping clients reach their goals, and establishing rapport, I have been able to make a positive impact on the lives of those I work with. I look forward to continuing to grow and learn as a counselor, and to supporting children and their loved ones
in their journey towards healing and resilience.
