Hello and welcome to my page! My name is Shirin and I am a licensed clinical social worker. Are you currently feeling overwhelmed? Do you feel like it’s getting harder to help your child get through their day? If so, just know you’re not alone. If your child is struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, or other stressors affecting their daily functioning I would love to help. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and my Master’s degree in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University. I have provided clinical services to adults, adolescents, children, families, and couples since 2020 in a variety of settings including psychiatric inpatient facilities and hospitals, partial hospitalization program, intensive outpatient program, community clinics, and through virtual platforms.
How Can I Help
My counseling style is supportive, honest, and solution focused to help the client reach the desired goal for treatment and learn to cope with current life stressors. I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders, mood disorders, grief and loss, identity issues, addiction, and substance use. I use a variety of techniques to help empower clients, relieve symptoms, and help work towards individuals goals for treatment. I work with clients who may be struggling with depression, anxiety, and trauma whose symptoms are affecting their daily functioning. During our initial sessions, we will delve deeply into the issues at hand, and collaborate to create a plan for addressing them in a way that helps the client on their journey towards a happier and healthier life. I have used CBT and DBT in my practice. We’ll explore what brought the client to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help make progress. With CBT, we’ll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experience. With DBT we will learn new ways to cope with current stressors in your life and replace current coping strategies that no longer serve you.
