Hi, my name is Alessandra! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and I have had the opportunity to work with adults and children in various mental health settings for 3 years as an LPC- Associate. I worked with kids between the ages of 6-17. I truly enjoy working with kids and seeing the world through their eyes. I believe in meeting the client where they are at on their level, working with them collaboratively to set appropriate goals, and guiding and supporting clients to achieve those goals.
How Can I Help
My goal is always to help you succeed in your goals. I’ve had the chance to work with kids in a residential treatment facility who were a part of the foster care system as well as in a private practice setting. I found a passion for working with kids who have gone through both intense trauma and everyday issues. My areas of focus include: trauma, abuse, neglect, foster care, adolescence, family, anxiety, depression, and co-occurring disorders. I primarily use person-centered models, with cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, narrative therapy, but am looking forward to incorporating play therapy, as well as other evidence-based practices that can be tailored to the needs of the client. My hope is to help provide tools, resources, and skills for not only the child but the family as a whole to be successful.
More About Me
My self-care consist of doing my own nails (picked up the skill during the quarantine), watching anime, reading, listening to true-crime podcast, roller skating, and hanging out with my dog. I like to think that I know how to take care of plants, but my plants may beg to differ. I also enjoy learning new recipes to cook or bake.
