Hello I’m Mike,
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and have been for the better part of 36 years. I was fortunate enough to have started at the University Level and then working just about every aspect of Crisis Counseling to include Crisis Centers, Mental Institutions and with Underprivileged children. I’ve worked in three different states and have loved every job I’ve had.
I work hard to tailor my sessions at Mind Works to fit the needs of your child and that often includes working with the Parents as well.
My work will include evidence-based practice., Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy and Parent education.
I take a relational approach in my work. This may take extra time getting to know my clients, but I believe each family is unique and everyone should get the opportunity to do their best.
I use play-based activities to build a therapeutic relationship and introduce social skills, (i.e., anger management, and the managing of emotions.)
I will work at helping my clients work through anxiety, depression, social and school concerns, grief and loss, family change, disruptive behaviors, and abuse.
My Work Experience

- Therapist, Life Management Center, Children’s Adolescent Clinic, El Paso,TX
- Therapist, Childhelp Children’s Center, Physical/Sexual Abuse Advocacy Center, Phoenix, AZ
