Reanna Owens, LPC

Hello, my name is Reanna Owens, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Born and raised in San Antonio, I graduated from St. Mary’s University with both a Bachelor’s of Psychology and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health. I have served children, adolescents and families working at residential treatment centers, foster care, and various social service agencies.

I am dedicated to working with children and their families to build the necessary skills to help your child develop and grow into their best selves. My experience includes working with children and families with a history of trauma, grief and loss, behavioral issues at home and/or at school, depression, anxiety, PTSD, adjustment disorders, and family transitions.

How Can I Help

I use a personalized approach to treatment and pride myself on creating a safe space for families and children to express themselves, seek guidance and work through difficult situations. Through a safe, nonjudgmental, and culturally competent space we will work together to create a treatment plan to help empower your child find their voice.

I am trained in trauma informed care, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), TF-CBT (Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention). Since play is a child’s first language, sessions often encompass play therapy techniques, building pro-social competences and finding ways to create positive coping skills.

More About Me:

My ideal weekend would be enjoying live music, hiking, and exploring the Texas Hill Country with my husband. Snuggling with my 2 cats, enjoying a nice campfire, and attending Camp Gladiator are some of my favorite ways to relax.
