Rochelle Flynn, MD, FAAP

Hello, my name is Rochelle Flynn. I am a board-certified pediatrician, and I am really glad to become part of the Mind Works team. My goal is to help your child with the medication aspect of their mental health care. I will discuss various medication options for your child’s condition and the benefits that they can provide to enhance your child’s treatment success along with counseling and play therapy.

Education and Experience

I have a vast experience in many aspects of pediatrics. I graduated college and medical school from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. I am double board-certified in general pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine. I spent the first 10 years of my career practicing pediatric emergency medicine before I switched to primary care. I have worked in adolescent medicine and, most recently, in immigration health caring for children in a family residential facility.

More About Me

One very unique thing about me is that I have triple experience regarding autism. I am not only a pediatrician who can diagnose and treat aspects of autism, but I am also the mother of a preteen girl with autism, and I was also personally diagnosed with mild Autism Spectrum Disorder in 2013. This gives me a very broad perspective when discussing this condition with parents and caregivers. I grew up in a suburb of Philadelphia, PA. I am married for 15 years to a retired Air Force veteran who is now a middle school teacher, and we have a son and a daughter. We have lived in San Antonio for the past 11 years. I have published a children’s book about autism after my own diagnosis. I love reading, solving logic puzzles, and spending time with my family. I also have a menagerie of pets including two dogs, 3 full fish tanks, and a cute little axolotl!
