Sheila Smith, LCSW

Sheila Smith, LCSW

Hello, my name is Sheila Smith, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), with experience working with children, adolescents, and families. Wanting to be a voice for those who had little to none, I pursued a collegiate education in the helping professions. Through the University of Alaska Anchorage, I earned an Associates of Arts in Human Services, Bachelor of Social Work, and Master of Social Work. My education provided me a strong foundation to effectively work with individuals and families. In my professional career, I have worked for non-profits, school district, city government, and state government.

How I Can Help

Together, we can partner and explore the root of your thoughts and behaviors which are impacting you, identify your strengths, and develop an achievable plan which promotes healing and healthy change. Theoretical frameworks and approaches I utilize include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths Perspective, Solution Focused Therapy, Collaborative Therapy, and trauma informed care.

More About Me

Born and raised in Alaska, I enjoyed a lot of what Alaska has to offer: fishing, camping, hiking, skiing, northern lights, and yes, even a few days of 24-hour daylight! Additionally, I love spending time with my husband, bio-kids, bonus kids, motorcycle riding, music, the arts, exploring new places, up-cycling items, and my pets.
