Hello my name is Tanya Monita and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from The University of The Incarnate Word in 2006 followed by my Master of Science Degree in Counseling Psychology from Our Lady of The Lake University in 2009. I bring with me 10 years of experience working with at-risk children, adolescents, caregivers, and families in various settings. I attribute my professional wisdom and growth to all the clients I have had the privilege to serve firsthand.

I provide a youthful outlook to your child by providing compassion, empathy, authenticity, guidance, support, and help problem solving the challenges at hand. I utilize several therapeutic approaches including Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and more recently trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). By providing a listening ear, I tailor a suitable approach that will best suit the uniqueness of your child.

In my free time, I cherish time spent with my family and friends, enjoy listening to dark wave music, collecting nostalgic toys from my childhood, playing my all time favorite Pac-Man arcade, and watching horror movies. Personally, there is nothing like the hunt of finding my favorite 80s strawberry shortcake!
