My Workshop Journey

I would love to share with you a glimpse into my recent journey in Brené Brown’s Daring Way™ facilitator training. Through thoughtful and patient exploration, the Daring Way™ instructors and curriculum led me and my small group through a process of reflecting on our personal values and identifying the aspects of our lives where we want to Show Up, Be Seen, Live Brave™. We explored how to identify and develop trusting relationships to support our efforts to be more open and honest with our stories and to behave in ways that are consistent with our values. During this training we practiced mindfulness, self-compassion, and empathy and we learned techniques to pass these routines and practices on to others.

My Personal Journey

Since returning home from the in-person training, I have been engaging in online study of the curriculum. I have moved thoughtfully through the process of owning my own story of falling and rising again and being an active participant in the ongoing process of writing my own endings. I have been challenged to cultivate curiosity about my thoughts, behaviors, and feelings, and to get honest about what assumptions and habits I need to change in order to fully embrace my wholehearted life.

My Future Journey

The experience of gathering with mental health professionals from all over the world to deeply study this powerful research and be immersed fully in this clarifying and motivating group counseling process has lit a fire within me to share this work with others. I look forward to sharing this powerful and engaging work with those who join me in individual counseling and for a Daring Way™ group at Mind Works.
